Rahul Gandhi Detained as Opposition Demonstrates Over Voter List Dispute

The Indian police have briefly arrested a number of opposition leaders, including the leader of Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, in the capital city of India, New Delhi, while they were marching on the streets demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar from his position as the Chief Election Commissioner. These protests, conducted by opposition parties, students' organizations, and "Cockroach" youth organization, allege that the Election Commission has manipulated the voters list in order to provide an edge to the ruling party of India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
